The Redmi A1 features a 6.52-inch HD+Dot Drop Display, 32GB Storage with 2GB RAM, a MediaTek Heilo A22 Quad-Core Processor, 8MP dual camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery (which can last up to two days depending on usage) with fast charging capabilities.
Design-wise, the Redmi A1 includes a leather-like texture on the back casing, an 88.89% Screen-to-Body ratio, and a dedicated SD card slot within the dual-SIM tray.
The one notable feature is it missing is a fingerprint sensor, which appears on the Redmi A1+; however the Redmi A1 is aimed at a more entry-level, casual market, and could be a solid device for someone looking for a simple Android solution.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Redmi A1 will retail for R1,999 and will be available in November 2022 in the light blue and black colourways.
