Instagram Rolls Out Features We Actually Want

0

Instagram has been on a bit of an update binge lately, it seems like every few days there are improvements and new features being added.

This week, the Facebook owned company has added not one or two new functions, but four.

Here they are:

Location Stories

You’ll see a new story ring at the top of “Explore” which is filled with stories happening in your location or nearby. These stories come from people who’ve used location stickers in their stories. You’ll also be able to search for any location around the world, and you’ll see a story ring for that place at the top of the location page.

Hashtag Stories

When you search for a hashtag, you might see a story ring at the top of the page filled with stories using that same hashtag.

Landscape and Portrait

One of the annoyances with Instagram has been that you have to crop images when posting it. The company fixed this for regular posts quite a while back but images and videos taken from your photo gallery which you send to friends via Direct, still end up cropped. No more. Instagram has rectified this and now you’re able to send pictures and video to your friends in all their full sized glory.

Links

You’ll be able to share website links with friends and preview them directly from your Instagram thread. You’ll also see links for phone numbers and addresses.

Share.
